4 awesome runners ran 5 miles to clean up the garden at the Impact Theatre!

Trainer Lisa had a nasty case of the plague last night so I filled in for her over in the lovely Ealing! Ealing has a special place in my heart after I did my first ever race there a few years ago!

I met 3 lovely runners, Jan, Jonathan and Kishor who were extremely welcoming :) We dropped our stuff off at the gym and did a little warm up outside before we set off on our way to the Theatre.

Thankfully the weather was on our side last night and there was no rain in sight.. Hooray! We ran the 4km to the theatre and met the lovely Peter who let us in and showed us around. What a nice place it was! He took us through the building and outside to the patio garden which was super cute and had a beautiful silver birch tree in the middle. Pretty though it was, unfortunately it was that pesky tree which was shedding all it's leaves and causing a giant mess! So we had all of that to sweep up as well as some Christmas trees to dispose of and some other bits and bobs to be recycled.

Everyone got straight to it! Jan grabbed a Christmas tree, slung it under her arm, and took it away, while the lads moved some of the bulky items out to the car. Leaves were swept and shovelled into the bin and after just 15 minutes the place was transformed! It was the perfect size task for the amount of people we had :)

Tabata!

Once the garden was cleared, we said goodbye to Peter and thought we would do the fitness session out in the car park while we waited for that valuable GPS lock on our watches!

We did one round of tabata (8 sets of 20 seconds work, 10 seconds rest) which included 4 rounds of squat jumps to really set those glutes on fire! We alternated those with shuttle sprints to the lamp post and back. 4 minutes of work and those hearts were certainly pumping!

Nearly home time!

We got our breath back and set off back towards Ealing Broadway. Jan peeled off home for the last little bit whilst myself and the guys carried on to pick up our bags. A little stretch and that was it!

Amazing job everyone! It was lovely to meet you all and well done for getting so much done! Lisa should be back next week but if you ever find yourself in Greenwich on a Wednesday evening, feel free to come visit!
