Report written by Sarah Lee
On a lovely sunny September morning 9 runners met at Bexley parkrun. It also happened to be Bexley’s 400th parkrun. As everyone reconfigured at the finish line we were all surprised by the hot weather considering it is almost October. We took a short walk up to the English Gardens, cheering on the parkrunners as they were coming in to finish.
It was a double dose of The Old English Gardens this week
We met Nicky at the tool shed who had prepped us tea, coffee and of course biscuits. There were plenty of tools for all kinds of jobs to go around. We had 2 teams giving the bushes a haircut and the others set about weeding. We spent a while learning about the fish in the pond and admiring the flower bed of dahlias which we helped prep for a few years ago. We assembled for a group picture with our flag before we left.
The next volunteer morning will be next month. Details to follow...
