On a dry, bright but wild windy Saturday, the dogs and I set off for our, now regular, amble to Asda. On the way we saw lots of branches strewn about, and a number of damaged trees. So glad that I left the bike at home.

A very quick in and out was the order of the day - although it seemed that everyone in Runcorn had decided to descend on the store. They buzzed like bees around the Mothers' Day flower display, ignoring social distancing as the throng also choked the greetings card aisle.

I managed to avoid much of the crowd, and was soon handing over the goods to Mr M, who looked well but was feeling the cold. We spoke briefly, as the wind whistled keenly around us and the temperature had dropped significantly.

On cue, rain began to fall encouraging the dogs and me to pick up the pace a little. By the time we reached the canal, the sky was bright and we arrived home, having enjoyed a (mostly) leisurely six mile walk.
