Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Lund
It didn't quite feel like spring, in the cold wind, but wonderful views of London from Blythe Hill Fields, where three GoodGymmers, Sarah, Louise and Tim, joined a large group of volunteers from the Friends group. Some earlier tree planting hadn't succeeded, thanks to poor stock, so we were unstapling the wire protection from the stakes, digging out the dead saplings, and digging out holes for new ones. Lots of London clay, and even though on a hill, the ground was waterlogged, so we put lots of mulch in the planting holes. Then we hammered in new staples for the wire protection, amazingly not hitting any thumbs or fingers.
I used to run across Blythe Hill on the way to see my coach. I'll make a point of going back that way, and keep an eye out for the two trees we planted.
BTW, I wore a silly sweat shirt, which is why there are photos of me from the front and back, even though in the one from the front I look really stupid

But, but, I was going to comment on how marvellously appropriate your Catford Cat sweatshirt was Tim! Good work team, we will be looking out for these on our summer runs over to Seniors!
