Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Bristol runner
We met up on Sunday morning to do a repeat mission for Ms R who'd had some help from Shreena and Anna a couple of weeks ago, so we could hopefully finish off the good work that they had started.
It was great to meet Rachel who was doing her first GoodGym mission, having started coach running back in September, and good to catch up with Fi and Shreena as always.
Shreena had warned us that there was plenty to do, and about a limited availability of tools so we brought some extra secateurs, shears and loppers along for good measure and we certainly needed them.
We quickly set about tackling the brambles around the top part of the garden, whilst trying to tackle the long grass in the process but seemed to only manage to uncover three bodyboards along the way. Nevertheless, we managed to fill lots of bags with thorny waste, enjoying our chat about work, life, pets and GoodGym (natch) whilst enjoying the lovely views from Ms R's garden over towards the Northern Slopes (scene of many varied community tasks over the years).
Whilst Shreena said her goodbyes, we discovered a lower tier to the garden with loads more brambles so Rachel, Fi and I got stuck into those and managed to clear as much as possible in the time available, clearing the space so that the back gate now opens and all the while being watched by next door's cat.
By the time we'd finished the garden was looking a lot tidier and much less brambly and had managed to fill lots of bags, expertly packed without too many tears (as in rips not the stuff that come out of your eyes!).
Ms R seemed happy and her neighbours probably will be too.
Nice one!

Great work you lot, and extra dedication, well done and pats on the back all round!
