Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
A beautiful Bristol evening, a run around the docks, a great task, a toad and record numbers meant one of the best GoodGym Bristol runs yet!
We met at the Folk House on Park Street as normal and headed down the hill and around the docks bathed in glorious sunshine. One of our new members Niall set the pace, leading us through the docks, over the bridge at Hotwells and back to Brandon Hill. After a tough run up to the top, Fraser set us to work on our task.
The task was to continue clearing the patch of brambles we started on two weeks ago. With a record number of GoodGymers we go stuck in and made rapid progress. Kate proved too strong for both the brambles and her fork! Sarah was chief wildlife spotter, and made sure all the toads we found were safely relocated to an equally shady spot. By the end of the task we managed to clear the whole site including brambles and roots, mainly thanks to Matt and Kate’s determination not to be defeated! A special mention also to Janine and Laura for getting stuck in, and Doug for managing to sneak in a bit of his trademark lumberjack skills!
For the next run we’ll be meeting at the Folk House at 11am on the 25th May, and heading to Arnos Park in Brislington to shift some soil and compost in a community garden.
