Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lucy Hill
An email pinged through, ‘A new mission to help Ms E has been listed 2k from your home’. I signed up and soon had a confirmation email for the task going a-bread at 8 the next morning. Ms E already had her shopping list and was to pay by bank transfer, so I thought I’d wing it, and get myself down to the shops that night, and prep for the mornings mission.
The list was as follows: * Cooked chicken wings * Cooked chicken drumsticks * Smoked bacon * Banana * Red grapes * Avacado * Broccoli * Whole roast chicken * Semi skimmed milk large * Pineapple juice * Hash browns (freezer) * Chicken dippers * Hovis seed sensations bread.
I brocc-ed up at Iceland just before closing and semi-skimmed the list for what I needed. Iceland did a fine-apple (juice) job of having almost everything Ms E had requested, from chicken dippers to avocados. Basket full, I paid at the chick-out and left one store for another. Into Tesco I popped to Avo look for the Hovis Seed Sensations (Iceland unfortunately only had the Warburton brand...). Bread found, so off the the self-scan to pay. I did make a hash brown of it, and didn’t get a receipt for the loaf. At Casa de Lucy, there was the fun job of stuffing all the chicken (and the rest of the shopping) into the fridge and freezer. I’m not one to boast (chicken), but I did do a grape job at fitting it all in with out bacon anything. The next morning, I was up bright and early. The food was transferred to my rucksack (and a precariously balanced carrier bag), cycled down to Fulham and the goods were delivered to Ms E’s doorstep. Another mission avocadone for this top banana.
(The puns in this one are so bad, I wanted to milk this and have a pub for every item on the list. It was bacon me go a little bananas trying to get so many, but I did a seeded sensational job in the end. Okay I’ll stop now).
