It was a quick warm up of Mexercise after testing everyone got the rules with a couple of Mexican waves, we got into the warm up of star jumps, high knees, squats etc. And then it was time to tackle the hill up to the task which meant it was downhill on the way back.
We arrived at Brownhill Road Baptist Church with strict instructions to only use the one staircase and not disturb the Scouts and a brief run down that we'll be clearing one room, moving all the contents across a badminton hall, down our set of stairs and into another room.
We all made our way to the room to see what treasures awaited us (and treasures they were to some, don't forget to send me a message if you want to keep anything we unearthed) and it was time to form a human chain. I heard murmurs of doubt in my human chain plan but I had faith! We had a team in the top room taking things to halfway across the badminton court, a team to the stairs, a team manning the stairs and a team down the stairs.
The clearing of the room was speeding along and we began to tackle the floor tiles that had been tacked down in places but that was no match for GoodGymers! By the time a hammer had been found to lift the carpet we'd already completed the task.
It was a task that made a difference to the church as they wouldn't have been able to do it without our help. Great work team!
There was time for a group photo and the GoodGym Jingle played excellently by Steve and we were on our way back in the rain to Glass Mill (some of us straight to Bella Roma for the social).
Don't forget we have our Christmas social at the end of November and if you'd like to join our whatsapp group then give me a shout!
