Okay, so tonight we didn't face the toughest run ever to reach our task. According to Google Maps the distance from Mirth, Marvel and Maud to Greenleaf Road Baptist Church is 0.1 miles, and to be honest I think that might be an exaggeration! Still I think the distance suited Ercole and Francis who will be participating in the South Down Way Ultra Marathon this weekend. At a distance of 100 miles, I hardly think they needed to overdo things tonight - good luck chaps.
Anyway, what we lost in the distance we made up for in awesome taskness. Welcomed into the building by Dan and his lovely family, everything was all set out for us, including tea and biscuits! We got cracking immediately. The trouble was that with such a good turnout we had twelve runners but just eleven brushes - hence my obscure pun! And it was the dependable Beth who ended up with the empty chamber. Although after a good bit of sweeping up Beth did have the appearance of the gaffer on the task making sure no gaps were left in the brushwork of the rest of the crew!
After a good half hour of paint sploshing (aggregated to six-hours when we factor time per person!), the room was looking much brighter. So we downed brushes, grabbed a bikkie and headed out to Lloyd park for a double drill session. Well, I couldn't let everyone get away with a 0.2-mile jog out and back, could I?
We are back at the same place next week so do help us come and finish off, I am sure there will be plenty of paint brushes to go around. If not, Beth is at the front of the queue!
