Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
This week we were a perfect 10 runners....covering 6km and planting bulbs at break-neck speed!
We met on the very windy prom and had a quick brief before heading out towards Bournemouth Pier. The wind gave us an extra resistance challenge and made the chatting much harder!!
Heading inland, we all realised how long the Bath Road hill actually is, but we smashed it!
Lovely Teresa met us at the Grove Hotel. It was our second visit to this cancer respite hotel. Really good to see the progress on our rockery, started a few weeks back. This time we had sacks of 'Jack the Lad' bulbs to plant. Racing against the fading light the team worked really well, the bulbs were soon all safely in the soil and there was a lot of lively chat happening too - good work!!
The bulbs will produce beautiful yellow flowers in the spring time and we are all keen to come back and see our work!
As we left the task, we needed another type of bulb (haha) to light the way for us. The darkness set in and we headed to the Eastcliff zigzag for some interval training. The group took on the challenge, repeating 3 times to build fitness by sprinting and active recovery on a steep gradient.
We had a short dash back to base for a warm down. A reminder of the Bournemouth marathon Festival this weekend and plans were made for a pub quiz evening together....check your emails!
Another good session - well done Bournemouth!
