We were a busy bunch at the Baby Bank on Friday morning and the hour quickly turned into three! First item on the agenda was to pack up all of the larger donated toys into Richard's car to take to the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice. We managed to fill the car to the brim! Next, I started sorting out the Christmas gift donations for local children... and it was great to see how many donations had come in since last week! If anyone is keen to donate gifts, the Baby Bank are in need of gifts for older kids, age 10+. Each Christmas gift bag should contain a set of new pyjamas, a chocolate selection box and an age appropriate book. I'm putting some gift bags for teenagers together with my son this week. Throughout the morning, the doorbell rang constantly - lots of people donating goods or picking up gift packages. A very productive session... must remember a wooly hat next week though!! ❄
The Baby Bank collects donations of good quality clothes, equipment, and furniture to help families in extreme need. They provide essentials ranging from everyday items like nappies, and wipes to larger items like cots. They support families beyond the baby stage, for example with school uniform. They aim to give all children the best possible start in life.
