Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nicola Marshall
It was wonderful to welcome our lovely new member, Adele this evening as she joined us for her first ever Goodgym task. Sorry that you picked one of the coldest nights of the year to come and join us. It really was freezing but at least it was dry!
We started our evening with a nice 2-mile circular run starting off at the George’s and then snaking through the woods (thank goodness for head torches!), up the big hill and back up to the George’s where we finished with half of a lap of Maurice’s not parkrun route (which I don’t believe he needed his head torch for as he runs it that much, I’m sure he could run it blindfolded!). We were chilly to start with but we soon warmed up as we got moving.
Our task this evening was to do a litter pick around the George’s (just so we can make it look nice for Maurice while he’s running round it to be honest! 😉) We collected a hearty 4 bags of litter, enjoying a good natter as we did. We never run out of things to talk about at Goodgym but it was especially nice to be able to chat to our lovely new member, Adele and to find out more about her.
The evening passed quickly but by the end of the night, we were all certainly ready to get home to thaw out! It was nice being able to see (by torchlight!) the difference we made – it’s amazing what can be done by 3 pairs of hands in 45 minutes!
Well done on a great night’s work and for rocking up on a cold night to do good for your community! You’ll all go to heaven!
Have a great week and see you all soon. Loads of love, Nicola xxx
