Did you know trainers take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade? That means if King Harold wore running shoes at the Battle of Hastings they'd still be around today.

That's why the work of JogOn is so important. They recycle and reuse running shoes saving them from landfill. Many pairs get given to schools, community groups and organisations that can redistribute them to people who need them.

People attending the running show were asked to bring old trainers to donate and managed to fill 2 huge perspex containers which GoodGym was asked to unpack at the end. A bit of jiggling and manoeuvering and the containers came undone with hundreds of pairs of shoes falling onto the floor. A quick check they were all in pairs and we packed them into boxes ready to be given away.

JogOn are always accepting donations. Find out how you can donate here: https://www.jogonagain.com/
