Kash and Sevan booked today's mission knowing what to expect, flowerbeds of muddy soil that would need to be weeded and turned over. As the weather improved through the week, so did their hopes of not being covered in brown, sticky stuff by the end of the mission. Then, Sunday morning and rain happened, putting mud right back on the table.
Arriving at Mr J's near Caledonian Road, he asked Kash and Sevan to focus on the 2 flowerbeds that they hadn't touched last time. He'd invested in some heavy duty bin bags that were a silly size, larger than Kash. Sevan grabbed the small spade again to target roots, with Kash wielding a large fork to cover wider areas by turning over the soil.
The soil was like wet clay and caked everything that it touched. A lot of time was spent getting the tools cleaned up, ready to dig into the mud again. Even with the extra time spent on this, Mr J was pleased with how much the pair managed to achieve and was really impressed with Kash's work ethic.
"She's a great worker, stronger than most men. She's one in a million" - Mr J
Kash and Sevan managed to fill half a bin bag with weeds, roots and any mud that the couldn't get off of 2 other things. That's half of a giant bag though! Before leaving, they tried to tidy themselves up by scraping as much mud as they could off their shoes. They didn't want to leave a muddy trail leading all the way back to Ealing.
