Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Simon Fitzmaurice
5 Goodgym runners Simon, Hanry, Claire, Josh and Natasha caught up outside the Arsenal Community Hub on a hot Monday evening, with thunder clouds overhead. We began our session with a traditional count-off (name, number and favourite Sunday morning breakfast). Our top responses tended to involve eggs (scrambled or poached or fried), or some delicious overnight oats mixed with fruit. Certainly some great suggestions to take on board! After a warm up involving muscle activations and dynamic movements, we ran approximately 1.4 miles to meet Miriam in the lovely Cally Park.
We caught up with Alison, Caitlin and Nurjehan just near Tolpuddle Café before beginning our mission for the evening. Our team were separated up into three groups. Group 1 took charge of clearing up an unofficial dumping site on the North East of the park- clearing away glass and debris from an area directly in contact with a children's playground. Group 2 took on the mantle for filling up top soil and transporting the donated supplies over across Europe. Group 3 were tasked with moving some of the bumps within the part to one location, and to make a series of small bike jumps in the shape of a crocodile (or Nessy as Caitlin suggested) for locals to enjoy.
Within 40 minutes, we had made a great amount of progress on these listed projects, and Miriam was thrilled with our collaborative endeavours!

Aligator - Crocodile - Nessy - take your pick. What a hidden gem of a park. I like discovering new places. Thank you Simon.

Was nice to see a new place and meet new people. I enjoyed the rain shower too. I'm a bit confused that I received an e-mail to say I didn't attend, did I not register correctly?

Hi Claire. I'm not sure what's happening here- I will contact the tech team about this. Nothing wrong from your side!
