Can You Wheel the Love Tonight
27 GoodGymers made their way to help the Crisis at Christmas Warehouse in Tower Hamlets.
- Friday, 30th of October 2020
- Led by Laura Williams
A decent sized group met this evening for the launch of our big London East collab with Crisis, helping them prep for a full season of activity.
After congregating in one of the many vast basement areas, we were treated to a very thorough health and safety briefing by the brilliant Richard, complete with correct lifting technique demonstrated by Tracey.
After a guided tour of the HUGE building, we assembled into pairs to wheel trolleys and pallet pumps from one side of the warehouse to another. It was energetic and skilled work, navigating uneven terrain and fellow GoodGymers.
Very much a launch event
As a first event, a launch event, we did well. We learned about staying safe in a warehouse, the purpose of our visits and how it's best to avoid unevent cement when wheeling a high pallet pump.
What's coming up next in our CRISIS collab...
And so onwards to next time when we get really stuck into the task proper.
Our line-up for our next visits include tile-cutting, cleaning the soon-to-be medical room; ditto the call centre.
Joel leads the Tuesday evening task next week.
...while Brahma heads up another Friday night gig on the 6th!.
Yep, it's all go folks - you'll get to help out, say hello to friends old and new and... workout.
Thanks for a great night, tonight, and have a lovely weekend.
