After getting positively drenched on my ride to the train station I foresaw reduced figures on our evening slot of glory. I don't often enjoy being wrong, but this time I did. A lucky thirteen of you rocked up to run (with potential precipitation) and help out the community.

Joined by two first timers,Victoria and Rebecca. Both pretty rapid light footed runners, could we use their speed at the GG Olympics? I hope many of you have saved the date and are ready to have a corker of a day out - looks like great fun.

We discussed our favourite music eras and favourite cereal - an obvious combination of questions I'm sure you'll agree. Lots of 90's party people in the group...nostalgic tunes for those of my age, I can't doubt that - but I do question their longevity in the music history books #JustSaying . I believe we did recycled the cereal question, this became apparent after a few answers, but we marched on regardless. I noticed how much more impassioned answers were on this question, interesting(!)....cereal is an emotive topic I guess. Learnt some new morning delights and how Rosie wants us to to create an increased demand for her breakfast of choice so they restock it, ambitious target, but possible. As I trace back over our conversation it's creating a large Frosties sized hole in my stomach.

2miles of pancake flat canal running later and we had arrived. Paul the Headteacher at Manorfield really maximised his time with us this week. A handy checklist and a real plethora of things to move, throw and deconstruct. You all did a class job of getting it done. Paul took over the school in a run down state, with asbestos, rats and other things that shouldn't be in the same sentence as primary school. He's put in the hours and doggedly turned it around. We salute him.

Alice and Kev both unfortunately dropped a large shelf on their foot - ouch. The weak shelf legs turned out to be rubbish handles - live and learn I guess. Wish you both a super speedy recovery.

Sign up here for this week's Parkrun in Wanstead. Make it count aerobic warriors of East London.
