Catastrophe averted - brief tail of a pawsitive impact
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Wednesday, 2nd of September 2020
Today JC and I used our morning cycle to help Mr J get one step closer to coming home from hospital.
We met his daughter who filled us in on the plan - Mr J doesn't have heaps of time left, so will soon be heading home to go out where he's comfortable and happy. In order for this to work out, a special bed will be delivered. In order for that to happen, 2 armchairs needed moving out ready for a council collection.
Once I stopped fussing over Mr J's beautiful cat, we headed in and got cracking. The chairs were large but surprisingly light, and we were done within five minutes.
At this point, we bade adieu to Mr J's daughter and cat, and headed off - we hadn't needed to do much, but were glad to have filled in a gap that will make things easier for Mr J and those supporting him.
Mission accomplished.
