Chalk Farm Foodbank
4 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Saturday, 25th of March 2017
Prima, Qiao and I went to Chalk Farm Baptist Church on a lovely Saturday afternoon, where we met up with Louis who was our contact there. We then proceeded to unload 54 crates of donated food from a truck. Under the excellent guidance of Louis we then proceeded to go through all the food and sort it by expiration year, disposing of stuff that was past the use by date as well as some open containers. We then proceeded to weigh each crate and then stack them upstairs. Of the 54 crates we began with we ended up with 45 crates of food weighing a total of 696.5KGs and 3 bags of waste weighing 61.4KGs. All done in just over a couple of hours.
