The photo has been lifted from Google as Age UK do not allow us to identify our “coaches” I’ll refer to mine as JJ. Widowed 20 months ago JJ faces her 2nd Christmas without her Husband of 60 years . She was feeling a little bit low as her Christmas plans to be with her “bubbled” Son may have been thwarted. Despite that we managed a reasonably lively chat and she was soon laughing again. I checked with her she had enough supplies to see her over the next few days and she assured me her two Sons take good care of her grocery shopping. Her only sadness was she’d have no turkey on Christmas Day, it occurred to me to take her up a turkey dinner tomorrow but that would be against Age UK and Tier 4 rules plus I would hate to inadvertently give her food poisoning or worse. I’m just hoping one of her Sons will be delivering a dinner to her at least. We finished on a lighter note and she said it had been nice talking to me so I hope I cheered her up a bit.
