Report written by Conroy
Last night 6 members of GoodGym Croydon ran to Tunstall Nursery to help tidy up the outdoor area and transfer half ton of play sand into one of their sand pits.
Armed with one wheel barrow, a bucket, a fence shovel and 2 play shovels Hannah and Ros opted to load the bucket and wheel barrow while Kate and Nicola transported the sand around the back of the nursery to the sand pit. Looking at them tackling the ton bag of sand with a bucket and toy shovels you couldn't help but wonder if they would get the job done or whether they were their to play.
Sam opted to help Jane with tidying up the play area at the back of the nursery, there were a lot of leaves that had fallen from the tress that had taken up residence in the sheltered play area along with sweeping away some cobwebs. At least Sam had adult sized apparatuses for her task.
Size don't matter!
The team shifting the sand did not let the size of their tools stopped them from performing, they happily went about their task making various trips back and forth chatting away about their weekend, how different their colleagues looked in person as opposed to seeing them on teams/zoom.
If You Don't Have Anything Nice To Say, Be Quiet!
Having started a new job during lock down a member of the group was meeting some of her colleagues for the first time, however, one of her colleague had clearly been paying too much attention to colleagues appearances on camera that upon meeting his new colleague for the first time felt he had to tell her he though she was stockier. Hello, thats not the thing to say to someone you've for the first time. Lock down has done a number on him he forgot how to speak to people. At least she was able to get it off her chest and speak to us about it.
Believe it or not despite working with toys the group moving the sand manage to complete it before Sam and Jane had finished their task so they attempted to build a sand castle in the sand but it looked more like slimmer from ghost busters.
We chipped in on the sweeping and tidying up to finish the task before we bid Jane good bye and headed back to solutions.
