Oh what a beautiful morning!

Louise, Paul and I started the morning off volunteering at Town Moor parkrun while Deb, Tanya and Phil ran at Gateshead (ring the PB bell for Tanya's Gateshead PB!) and Seb was suffering from a bit of a sore head.

We met the volunteer squad at Nunsmoor who were doubling up with Urban Green Newcastle on what was a gorgeous morning. The Bike Garden was already buzzing with activity when we arrived.

We took care of two jobs today: weeding (me, Tanya, Phil and Deb) and moving woodchip which was left to the wheelbarrow team of Seb, Paul and Louise. Louise's great sequence of photos show the difference this particular job made in the park. Dan will be pleased to see his Mum taking care of wheelbarrow duties in his absence, too!

We have been helping out at Nunsmoor since the very beginning of GoodGym Newcastle and it was so great to be back on such a gorgeous day.

The Bike Garden
Regular food and growing activities, rooms for hire and much more

The Bike Garden is a vibrant community space developed on the site of a previous bowling green in Nuns Moor Park, which now serves the community as a place to join in on regular food growing activities, place to hire for private and public events, that may be regular or one-offs, and much more
