Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by John Shirley
A group of local people are planting a 24-square-metre community garden at the south end of Caledonian Road, opposite the Killick Road Health Centre in Pentonville.
The team had 600 litres of bark chippings and some compost delivered early on Saturday morning. To help utilise these, John strolled from just over the border in Camden, while Sam, fresh from a race through Bordeaux's wine fields, ran down from just-as-lovely Finsbury Park to help out.
First we dug holes, mixed manure with earth and planted a number of shrubs in different parts of the area. Then we opened the large bags of bark and spread them over the area.
After an hour's graft, we'd helped create a improved environment for anyone making their way down Caledonian Road.
Task owner Sue said "Please thank Sam and John for their amazing help at the Killick Street garden. They were a huge help but left before I could thank them".
