9 do gooders hit the streets, took on the task at Living Under One Sun

Shouts out to Zuzana and Katy – welcome!

First up was a lovely newcomer who goes by the name Katy, closely followed by Mighty Martha and the rest of the gang and another new comer called Zuzana. Shouts out to Zuzana and Katy – welcome! We also had someone join us who didn’t want to be mentioned so I’ll refrain from using their name. Really cool to have you join us again.

upstanding pillar of the community

After a quick briefing and warm up we set off in search of this weeks light Sandy at Living Under One Sun. This wasn’t actually our planned task but due to some crossed wires we were lucky to have an upstanding pillar of the community on side to help out. Our journey there was pretty cool, the rain held off and it wasn’t too hot. On arrival Sandy lead the group to get tooled up then over to the task site where two rather big flowerbeds needed the soil turned in preparation for the planting of some potatoes in the coming days.

Azealia Banks and her potty mouth

Once everyone got to the flowerbeds they wasted no time in pulling up the few weeds that had begun to grow before turning the soil with pitchforks. Everyone put in a really good effort here as the ground was pretty tightly packed. While work commenced we discussed Azealia Banks and her potty mouth, West Ham and anything else that passed the time. With many a chuckle behind us we had managed to turn all of the soil on the beds while some how managing not to be distracted by Sandy’s son who had been taunting us with chocolate biscuits as we worked.

chocolate digestives he'd been tempting us with

After packing up and cleaning off the tools we had to make our way past Sandy’s car where here son awaited with those chocolate biscuits. We of course couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to this little munchkin who was all the more cuter with that huge pack of chocolate digestives he'd been tempting us with. We scoffed, we said bye then high fived before hitting the tarmac en route back to HQ for our warm down and a little more babble, I mean banter. That done we headed home to feed our bellies.

Until next week folks
