SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a pleasant spring evening, 11 of GoodGym Hammersmith & Fulham runners headed East to promote recycling and ran 11.8km in the process.
With H&F Trainer Anna away on holiday, the group saw the return of GG Redbridge Trainer James to lead the run. Armed with a mission to promote recycling in the Wiltshire Close Estate the group set off through Kensington & Chelsea.
With Jason taking the lead and avoiding the rather busy Cromwell Road the squad were soon zipping through Fulham and past Stamford Bridge. The team was definitely keen to get the job done and the pace was impressive given the group size and the busy West London streets.
Once at the Estate it was a case of finding the stickers – carefully hidden by H&F Council’s Tom Bayliss - and then placing a sticker on the chute of each floor of the five story apartment blocks. With the group split in to pairs the task was done in 10 minites flat and there was even time for a group photo and a play on the children's activity centre – we’re all still big kids at heart after all.
Despite a 30 minute run back to base, Team GG were up for even more fitness fun and after finding an appropriate green space, Trainer James conducted a short but tough relay fitness session. With one runner doing a plank/mountain climber/squat the other would run a 200m out and back. A fantastic session for working on strength and condition and raising the heart rate at the same time.
All that was left was a short run back to base and a brief stretch.
Big shout out to Amanda who joined for her first GG Hammersmith & Fulham run and task. Great work and thanks for bringing the good vibes!
Trainer James commented,
“I this might be the most enthusiastic GG group in London. Not content with a whopping 12km they actually asked for a structured fitness session too. Great work team and thanks for making me feel so welcome. I hope it wasn’t too hard and I get invited back!”
Fancy getting involved in next week’s task and run – don’t worry the lovely Anna is back – then check out the task here. It looks like a cracker!
