Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a mild winter night seven GoodGym runners from Hammersmith & Fulham ran to promote recycling, help the council and cover a whopping 10km in the process. Big task. Big run. That’s how we roll.
With Hammersmith & Fulham's beloved trainer, Anna, unable to lead the session it was down to James from GoodGym Redbridge to guide the group to victory. After a short intro talk it was off up the A4 towards Chelsea to get to grips on the night’s task – stickering chutes in the World’s End Estate.
This was a new task for GG H&F working alongside the Council to make the area a better place. In a recent survey among residents in the estate it was apparent they didn’t know about recycling facilities. The task was to put informative stickers on every chute on five 16-story blocks. No mean feat for seven runners but exactly the sort of challenge they love!
With the teams split into three groups of two, they headed off in different directions. Armed with markers, stickers and maps the plan was to get the first three blocks done and see how they were doing for time. Trainer James floated between the groups giving encouragement and taking the obligatory ‘action’ photos.
With the first three blocks complete in a mere 15 minutes there was time to do the final two before running back to base for some light stretching. Task complete!
An amazing amount of work done by the group in such a short time. Huge welcome to the area’s new runners and thanks to Jason for doing a brilliant job leading the run to and from the World’s End Estate.
There’s lots more GG Hammersmith goodness in the coming weeks. If you fancy some wet and watery action with London Sports Trust why not sign up for next week’s task here?
