Circling the (Russell) Square
3 GoodGymers made their way to help the Russell Square Gardens in Camden.
- Saturday, 29th of August 2020
- Led by Ben
For the second week in a row, Vicki, John and Lici cycled and ran to Bloomsbury to help the Friends of Russell Square volunteer gardening group. The gardening group works to maintain and improve the amenity of Russell Square for the benefit of all users, and GoodGym has previously helped them with installing insect hotels and planting bulbs.
The sessions over the past two weeks have focused on raking up leaves in different quadrants of the Square, as the leaf litter will otherwise break down on the lawns and flowerbeds, killing the plants. It was a lovely, social (if socially-distanced) task, working and chatting with a diverse group of local volunteers.
