Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
10 runners took a gentle jog up Rye Lane followed by a brutal sprint in the not so warm June evening.
As it's #nationalvolunteerweek it was ace to have a new face (Hi Laura) and a few GoodGymmers from Lambeth along (Hi George & Jay). With some of us on a...
Double whammy GoodGym day
After running and volunteering at City Hall on Wednesday morning, we were grateful for a shorter run up Rye Lane to Peckham Platform. We were met by GoodGym Southwark regular, Jess, who works for the Platform. Not only do they have a new exhibition launching tomorrow but they are also being featured on the BBC's The One Show with the Peace wall there. Following the riots in August 2011, the wall was erected for somewhere that people could express their love of Peckham and send a message of unity to those who had ignited unrest. So it was pretty cool to be able to make it shiny again whilst reading loads of positive messages.

We also got a few concerned locals checking that we weren't cleaning any of the messages off.
Jess had kindly bought us some jelly babies once we'd written our own message on the wall. For some, this may have been unwise as, using the Surrey Canal path, we set off on some sprints.
*Jogging warm up, sprint and jog, sprint and jog, sprint, sprint, sprint, sprint. *
After a quick catching of breath, we were off on a gentle meander back down Rye Lane whilst humming the One Show theme tune.
Massive thanks to Helena who brought home made banana and chocolate flapjack along to go with our cool down.
