One of the SHP allotment service users wants his own planting plot and marked out an area on his last visit. It is a largish overgrown area and we were asked if we could help clearing it. We set off with our trusty strimmer ( yes we know we use at our own risk) and managed to clear half the plot before the battery ran down so switched to manual cutters to cut back the enormous bramble from the centre. The cutting compost area is rather full so we started work on extending that and then disturbed an enormous rat 🐀 while tipping out our contribution to the kitchen waste bin 😳

The service users had got very demotivated after the lockdown overgrowth at the allotment. Its taken a lot of time and effort to turn it back into anything like a functional allotment especially from our Good Gym buddies and its so rewarding to see more and more of the staff and clients becoming more engaged with the project,
