Clearing Vincent's Garden
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Sunday, 9th of August 2015
Before the mission Beth Hoskins & I (Paul Bown) went to see Will & Axel finish their London Triathlon (Olympic Distance - 1.5km swim, 40km bike & 10km run), finishing it in 2:43:32 & 2:57:38 respectively, well done guys very impressed!
At midday on a bright sunny Sunday lunchtime Andreana, Sarah and I arrived with the mission of clearing all the rubbish out of Vincent's garden. Unfortunately Vincent is very unwell but would like to use his garden again; our mission was simple to clear, pile and remove any all of the rubbish and debris which littered the garden. Goodgym had assembled and we were mission ready!
Andreana and Sarah concentrated on the front of the garden where there was a considerable concentration of rubbish to be bagged up! The pair also did a wonderful job of piling any usable wood so a builder can construct some raised beds for Vincent - he has always enjoyed planting but struggles with bending down now. I headed to the back of the garden and made my way back picking up everything from broken plant pots to old footballs.
After an hours work in the hot August sun we'd filled around 6 bags of rubbish and left it at the front for the council to pick up next week. Well done guys! Great work!
Another Goodgym mission bites the dust!
