I was a little worried that Mr R had forgotten the time as when I tapped on his window and waved at the top one (he is deaf) there was no response. I need not have worried he was just making the coffee to fuel our chat.

We chatted for a couple of hours about a wide range of subjects including Lewisham’s lost cinemas, the differences between subtitles on TV and with films, the lower reaches of the Thames and its dereliction. We had a lovely morning.
