Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Shame about the forking weather
With the storms continuing to lash the South West, a hardy band of GoodGymers met on Saturday morning to run and do good.
We met as usual at Roll for the Soul in the centre of Bristol and after a warm up led by Pru we ran out into the wind and rain to Bedminster and Bramble Hill farm. The weather started out pretty bad, and got worse! Drizzle turned to rain, which turned to rain, then heavy rain, and then hail! Despite the weather spirits were high, dodging puddles on the way to the task.
After running through Victoria Park, up a hill and then across a flooded field we got to the task! This week’s task was at Bramble Hill, a community small holding, set up by local families with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. The task was to collect plant pots that had been scattered across the site by the wind, shift some old sheds to a wood pile and fork over the soil in one of the veg plots. To keep warm we set at task at top speed, getting everything done in 15 minutes and setting off again.
For the run back we headed back down the hill and into Bristol, spurred on by the sun coming out!
