Connecting Mr.P to the world of entertainment
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Saturday, 26th of June 2021
I was running late, but Mr.P thought I was early, yet I managed to spend a good hour with him to do another task that wasn't listed.
Mr.P wanted me to download apps on his mobile phone as he couldn't figure it out. I helped him setup his new password for his email (which he has and remembers) and proceeded to download BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5 and Spotify. Which took a while as his WiFi isn't the best. During the wait, he told me about his life and how he needed up bedbound.
I showed him how to use the apps and more importantly for him, being half deaf, how to connect it via Bluetooth to the speakers.
The final thing I did was get an old T-shirt from his bedroom as he hadn't been up there for years.
Mr.P enjoyed the company more than anything else as it's been many many months since he has spoke to someone in person (apart from the carer). I am sure he will be asking for more support in the future!
