Tumbleweed blew lethargically across the Petersham Towpaths. The tide was high and many had moved on...onto the streets of Richmond town it seemed which was heaving as shoppers enjoyed the first weekend since payday.

Thousands of shoppers but runners, there was one...Richmond we've struggled to get you your pun!

Having gained access to a new storage hut in Richmond, location to remain anonymous because of the gems inside...mainly cobwebs! We were excited to look professional with official litter pickers. We ran through the beautiful ornate streets of Petersham feeling thankful to have dodged the afternoon forecast of rain and arrived at our destination. The Copse in Petersham was in need of a clean up (so we heard) however, it appeared as though someone had got there before us. The green looked well maintained and we only managed to collect a small amount of Richmond rubbish. The Run Trainer tried to be funny stating "Looks like the COPSE have been had and we've been robbed of our rubbish" (he had to have a sit down after this as that took a lot of energy out of him.) We did what we could while we marveled at the beautiful clouds and took some interesting photos of us with the litter pickers (see above).

However we were thankful that there wasn't much litter to collect as we only had 4 hands between us...that's right, for the first time since GG Richmond started we had ONE runner! It seemed as though the rest were either shopping in Richmond town centre or keeping warm in the coffee shops.

We were determined to do Good (and to run) rather than join the crowd as that is what GG is about... GETTING FIT BY DOING GOOD I feel the need to shout about it as more need to hear this good news. There are still red laces up for grabs so although Richmond litter-rally rubbish this weekend there is always Monday to make up for it.

Happy running

Mark
