SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Pritesh Mistry
What a great night to be in Southwark!
Nineteen of you joined me as I covered in Southwark again. Big welcome to Megan, Jenny, Joline and Tom who joined for the first time.
After a brief intro on what GoodGym is all about and what we were up to we all departed Old Spike and headed toward Cossall Park. Helena expertly led the way and in what seemed like no time we were on the estate.
For a while we wondered if we had the wrong night as there seemed to be noone to meet us but we soon found Jaki who explained we'd have to take the long way round to the garden stores. No worry for us that meant some extra running!
Extra tasks
We then split into three groups, two went out in the estate on a planting mission while the others remained to clear and trim the garden. Everyone went to work with enthusiasm and it didn't take us long to get everything done. With two groups complete they then found some more work to do and helped move a water tank! The final group finished their planting (some tough clay soil held them up) and we all gathered to hear about how the residents had go together to make the estate a cleaner, brighter place and we got a big thank you for getting so much done.
Well done everyone
After a round of applause for Jaki and her team and for our hard work we headed back in to the night...it was a slightly speedier run on the way back as the rain had set in. There was an offer of a fitness session but we decided that we had worked plenty hard and so we broke a little early and headed home...or to the pub!
Fantastic leading you guys and lovely to see such a big group. Ellie is back next week so sign up here for what looks like a fantastic task! And don't forget it's the GoodGym-wide social next week, Thursday 5th - you can find all the details here!
