Saturday afternoon in West Ealing saw Shan and I meeting at Mr E’s house to sort out his garden. Expecting a jungle, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the job was well within our capabilities. Mr E was unsteady on his feet and not as strong nowadays so he pointed us at his extensive set of tools and let us go to work.

Whilst I wrestled with a lawnmower approaching the end of its life, and struggled with a large concrete crocodile, Shan landscaped with great artistic licence and his trusty Dutch hoe. The garden actually began to look like a garden, with borders and uncovered paths.

Over an hour of graft resulted in 5 bags full and a very pleased Mr E.
