While it looked like we were going to get very damp indeed last night in Hounslow, GG luck was on our side and blue skies came out just as we were doing our warm up.
Along side some exercises to get our muscles warm, we challenged ourselves to name something in the garden that began with the same letter as our first name. Some definitely had it easier than others, naming apple trees and seeds, some went for the very impressive Aspidistra, while the fave answer of the night came from Emily who quite rightly said that 'enthusiasm' was essential!
After a quick run down to Cultivate London, a charity which repurposes land in West London to grow plants and flowers as well as training up young people, we met with Romina and Mike who gave us our tasks for the night. While some of us got on with putting old pallets in the skip, the other team was on weeding and clearing old beds ready for replanting.
A lot of the talk last night was on the amazing racing that so many of you have been up to. Parkrun, marathons and Vitality 10k - it's amazing what you have achieved with many PBs along the way. Well done Alan, Michelle, Tish, Remy, Matt and Chris and anyone in Team Hounslow that I've missed out here!
On our way out we spotted a beautiful looking fox, which Michelle and Jon took as a good omen for the Leicester game this week, and then headed back to base for a session of three minute mountain legs. Next week we're back to Berrymede school to lend a hand there and don't forget about this great upcoming mission to help set up for the Jubilee for a community group who are very grateful for the help.
Have a week of happy running everybody!
