The darker evening and chilly, somewhat drizzly, weather didn't put off seven hardy GoodGymers who gathered together on one of Liverpool's iconic streets for a good old litterpick to start the year off!
Joined by new members Vicky and Jade we split into two teams and tackled a side of the street each, making our way from one end to the other, and stopping to do some heavier lifting on a few of the patches of grass and trees that flack the street.
There had definitely been some fly-tipping going on along with the usual litter a busy shopping street see's. We cleared what we could and reported the bigger items to the council for them to sort out.
One of the local takeaways offered the team some sample falafels to share as a thank you, and a member of the public approached us keen to become a GoodGym member and join us in future weeks.
17 bags of rubbish and an hour or so later and we called it a day! I'm sure we'll be back on Lodge Lane again soon, whether it be do another litterpick or to help out at one of the many fabulous organisations we've visited in 2022 that are based on this busy, vibrant street.
