I ran to St Pancras, picked up my bike which had had its brakes repaired, and cycled to Bloomsbury, where Mrs F gave me diligent instructions about which items she wanted. I went to Waitrose in the tastefully-decorated Brunswick Centre, where with the help of my GoodGym wife (who isn't claiming a good deed for this one) I managed to obtain precisely all the items Mrs F wanted, apart from the bread counter rolls which were all sold; however the friendly Waitrose "partner" suggested a reduced-price alternative, which Mrs F was happy with when I literally delivered the goods.
