Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michael Kidd
Yet more wet and windy weather didn't stop Ernestas (Ernie) and I meeting on Wednesday morning at Mrs J's flat to clear the way for a hospital bed and her subsequent discharge. It was Ernie's FIRST MISSION so be sure and give him a cheer!
We were met by Pat, her partner, who explained that the clutter was stopping his wife returning home so we cracked on as soon as he let us in. A simple case of moving a bed and chair down two flights of stairs was, as usual, made less simple by the narrow and tight staircase and awkward size of the furniture. This called for brute force rather than elegant manoeuvring and we were up to the task. Breaking the chair up took most of the time as it was a sturdy beast but we finally forced it out of the hallway into the street, ready for council collection.
The final job was to shift an old trunk (full of lead weight by the feel of it!) across the room before Pat was chuffed and let us go. Short-notice task complete.
