Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sevan
Ms C had dialled GoodGym for help choosing a new phone. A shady mission runner, Sevan, came to her house. Little did he know that he was going to be implicated in a serious crime, whether to go with Google or Apple!
Ms C had a plethora of mobile devices on the dining table when Sevan arrived, so he thought that this would be fairly straightforward. Then Ms C said that she'd never had a mobile phone and had made do with her landline until now. The phones on the table were given to her by family and friends and they hadn't been used in anger. Ms C had decided that it was time to give in. It was getting harder to get by without a mobile as she wanted to be able to call a taxi when out and about, call family in other countries more cheaply and 2FA her bank's transactions.
They spoke about the basics, phones and operators, Apple and Android, contract and PAYG or even SIM only, what apps were. Sevan tried to make it simple. Ms C decided that it was time to go for a smartphone, so Sevan mentioned that you could call other people for free using some messaging apps, even if they were on the other side of the world, but this was a more complex concept to grasp.
Sevan suggested a phone targeted at seniors which was intuitive to learn and use. Ms C and Sevan watched a video on how to use it and she was able to follow along. The only question that couldn't be answered was if the keyboard could be adapted for people with poor dexterity.
Ms C said that she'd call GoodGym if she needs more advice before buying or to help set up her phone once she has it. Meanwhile, Sevan left the scene of the crime believing that he'd left no trace behind
