There was a great turn out for our long run this evening with 12 runners taking on 9.7km and a sneaky hill.

The evening started with a slight longer welcome speech as I got a bit carried away talking about our festive plans* for next week, the group run and starter sessions planned for next year* * and the different ways of doing Goodgym.* * *

Tell me more

  • * Our last run of the year will be in festive fancy dress, 8km and include a tasty meal and secret santa too.
  • * *Check out the tasks lined up for Jan and invite your friends along to our Saturday starter sessions.
  • * * *Find out more about Missions and Coach runs in our area here. I can do your DBS check before or after any run.

Running late

When we finally got outside it was time to warm up those limbs and get going quickly. The run to the task was almost directly north for 4.4km. The group kept a good pace and even managed to natter along the way.

This evening we were heading to help out Pentecostal City Mission Church in Willesden set up for their Children's Christmas concert happening the following day.

Our task was to move a couple of tables down a couple of flights of stairs to a store cupboard, tidy up the shelfs at the back of the room and put out the seating for the audience. The gang sorted it out so quickly there was even time for a little sit down before we left.

The home run

It was great to have a down hill on the way home, this got us quickly back into a good pace and out of the ice wind that had picked up. With energy to spare, Will to a couple of people of an extra speedy stint for the last kilometre.

Once back to base, we all did some stretches and talked about the tricky job of thinking of puns for the run report. This week’s pun was kindly donated by Sarah Wren. Thanks all!

See you next week for fun festivities.
