We went to the riverbank and we found: a drone (deceased), a cone, a bucket (with a hole in), a sock, a shoelace, half a stick of celery, some foam, several glass bottles, plenty of polystyrene, a dirty nappy, innumerable sweetie wrappers, crisp packets, straws, plastic bags and lots and lots of plastic bottles!

4 GG Yorkies met on a warm autumn day to do a spot of litter picking and tidy up the riverbanks. I got there early so started around the bridge until Christine, Ben and Ellie turned up and we headed over to the East bank to scour the "beaches".

We were soon scrambling around on the banks (and for those with wellies, slightly in the river) dragging out all sorts of surprises, including a sadly long dead drone and the obligatory traffic cone. We found and cleared "The Place Where Plastic Bottles Go To Die" and Christine even braved the stinky old nappy (not her worst, apparently). There was some concern we would find a dead body, as "we have things to do today" and don't have time for police reporting!

Miraculously no-one fell in, and in no time we had filled 9 bags with assorted smelly rubbish and piled it neatly by the bin. Hiding the cone in a bag to avoid it's immediate re-purposing, we headed off into the sunshine feeling like the riverbank was left a little nicer than when we arrived.
