I was the sole member of the GoodGym contingent on this rainy morning but was greeted warmly by the friendly community gardening team. We wasted no time cutting off the dead heads off plants and weeding the flower beds, filling many wheelbarrows and getting prickled by the rose thorns! I also found an interesting mushroom that I was reliably informed was a cep, a prized tasty mushroom. I also located the rare ‘Santa tree’ 🎅 amongst the rose bushes. All in a great morning and then finished in time for a run back home to a (non mushroomy) lunch. 🍄

'A quiet oasis off Caledonian Road. Plenty of space (it is the largest square in Islington) to picnic, rest, read, admire the flowers shrubs and trees, and walk a dog. Volunteers, with the council are working to encourage healthy activities, including walking and yoga, and also to improve the diversity of wildlife in the park.'
