Tuesday 2nd April
Report written by Kash
It was the second Tuesday in a row with the weather not in our favour. Soggy shoes, gloves and hats were in fashion tonight for those who dared to go outside and challenge the reign of litter in North Acton. The rain decimated our numbers again and only Anuj, Kash and Sevan made it to the group run. Beata, who was not around, deserves a shoutout for encouraging Anuj to come for her local task!
The rain on the run and at the task was not the only challenge the trio faced. Neither the misplaced litter pickers nor the broken hoop stopped us from filling three heavy waste bags which we dropped for council collection at the nearest bin (which happened to be at a cemetery).
Contrary to what some of us might have assumed, it was not yet a head-torch-free evening. Luckily, we had one very strong source of light, which on our way back made all the small bits we missed shiny and obvious! Fingers crossed that the next week's session at Popesfield Allotments will be mostly in daylight. Sign up for it now!
