Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)
The ghastly British winter weather wouldn't keep these three GoodGymers away from a Thursday night community mission. The warmth of the Farringdon Pret-A-Manger was a great meeting point for them. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the store did not have much for leftovers as the assistant site manager told us they had one of their busiest days (even getting other Pret stores to chip in with their reserves during the day). Yet, there was enough to fill one 'Food Drop' bag - two sandwiches, a salad, a bunch of fruit, yoghurt and healthy pots. Since it was Stefan's first 'rodeo' Food Drop session, we allowed him to fill the bag, carry the bag to the local charity and hand it over. Sam navigated as he had the Food Drop app to state that the food had been collected and the app showed the way to Soapbox (a youth centre). Even though it was raining in, we leisurely walked a mile to Soapbox and by the time we reached our destination, Liz had the responsibility of opening the door at Soapbox. So, we all had our part.
The kids at the Soapbox were very appreciative of receiving a Food Drop delivery. Stefan, Liz and Sam said their farewells, but realised they will be seeing more of each other over the course of the next 4 days - with loads of missions and community missions to come! We are an active bunch!

1️⃣ Download the Food Drop app
