8 runners made their way towards Bermondsey to help prep Drummond Road Community Gardens for new projects.

We had three GoodGym tourists join Southwark for the first time: it was lovely to have you Wendy, Catherine and Bryon! With a little warming up and a brief chat on the Rye, we were off with Helena (our very own ultra marathon superstar) leading the way up to Drummond road.

This week was another endurance run and everyone kept pace very well in order for us to have enough time to have an impact at the gardens.

After a sweatier than expected run, we were met at the gardens by Lucy who co-ordinates the garden projects working to engage with local community groups.

She had lots of lovely tasks for us to get on with... re-locating a massive plant and helping create a 'beach' scene, soil turning in prep for some winter planting, bee hive moving (unfortunately empty) and clearing all the grass and weeds from between the paving slabs.

Frustrating and satisfying mostly in equal measure!

If you get the root of the plant, it's wonderful. There were, however, a lot of broken leaves and aching fingers by the end.

Once we'd had a weeding countdown, we were ready to pack up and get going.

It was time for a run back and again everyone kept pace and made it back. Big up to Chiara who hadn't run in a little while and pushed through despite the pain.

After a stretch and reminding everyone of the GoodGym social, it was time for our own social.

Pizza at the Actress. Well earned.
