Tonight's task was to run back to Brockhill and continue painting their reception area. Brockhill is a community assisted housing project in Goldsworth Park. It provides housing for the elderly and vulnerable people living in Woking. After a quick briefing and chat, we headed out into a chilly Woking town. Once again Barbara was leading the way, and soon we were on the Basingstoke Canal towpath, headtorches on, under the gorgeous blue moon.
Along the way we heard that Rob had completed The Darkstar ultra Marathon on Sunday- 28 miles along the hilly Sussex coast! Helen had been in Dublin meeting her new nephew, and George had been out running up Newlands corner in preparation for The Fox Ultra marathon in April. After 3.4km we arrived at Brockhill and met Paul, who had set up the paint and rollers for us. Once started it took us no time to complete the two walls needing painting, so we carried on and finished the whole reception area! We will return to Brockhill in 2 weeks to give the reception another coat Once we said our goodbyes we headed back towards the canal with Anne leading the way. I ran with Veronica who is hoping to walk 1000 miles in 2018! Come join this friendly group next week and get fit whilst doing good for your community.
