It was a beautiful (but freezing) morning in the Ouseburn, where 8 goodgymers wrapped up warm to join in with the Ouseburn Trust's volunteer session. In this session we were hedge planting! We had many Hawthorns to plant, which will make a thick hedge along the path way. It's always great to be able to be adding trees, rather than cutting back overgrown ones.

The task owner, Dave, gave us a great tour of the Ouseburn and how the Trust has been improving it. It was a great tour, with fun stories ranging from how we grow hedges to how the school children 'help' move the sheep to the fields for grazing.

We were joined by 2 first timers to GoodGym, Chris and Martha who were a great addition to our group this morning. We were also joined by Faye who made her Community Mission debut which was worth it just to hear her rendition of the Super Worm story.

Tom celebrated his 50th good deed in style, by pickaxing the ground relentlessly for the hour long session! Congratz on reaching 50, Thom! We wrapped up the task in perfect time, by the time the hour was up we had built a hedge so thick and dense that Kate couldn't possibly force her way through.

It was a great way to start the day, and for some just the beginning of a day packed full of good deeds.

I love you, A x
