Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Mridula Iyer
Good morning Goodgymmers! My mission today was to pick up a prescription for the lovely Miss K in Lewisham. It was a beautiful day, so I decided to go do some hills in Greenwich Park prior to heading over to the mission. I rose bright and early, and headed over to a very empty park. My hill repeats were woefully slow and also caused some confused (pitying) looks from other park members. I was trying to practice on more trail like surfaces so decided to run a bit off piste (ie through the bushes instead of around it) and would often emerge like an angry wheezy garden troll from some dense vegetation. I scared 4 pedestrians and a golden retriever.
Once done I headed over to the pharmacy to pick this up Miss K's prescription. I listened to a loosely labelled greatest hits of the 00s (if you are old enough to remember this, it's a dark decade for the world of music) and enjoyed the sunshine. For reasons unbeknownst to me, I also decided not to put on my coat, and by the time I got to the pharmacy, I was so cold, I was barely to write Ms K's name and DOB on the piece of paper for the pharmacist. Either that or my fingers were glued from the chocolate Easter dinosaur I guzzled this weekend (and the better part of a darth vader egg). Fortunately the pharmacists are used to much worse handwriting and managed to find her prescription just fine.
I trotted off to Ms K's house, and left the prescription at her door. She came to the door and we had a brief but socially distant conversation about her current difficult circumstances. From the sounds of it, things are definitely looking more positive, and I'm glad I could play a little part to make your life easier, Ms. K.
I left to get home for my afternoon shift with goodgym! Stay safe goodgymmers!
